$10 off the rack breather from Advance Auto Parts and a brass T fitting. I tried venting down to the road but I found that the oil spray was getting on my brake disk and tire...no bueno!

I was looking this over an I'm wondering if you could just aim the breather hoses at the outside of the air filter....wouldn't this allow the filter to catch it an keep it out of the engine an off the rear tire. Just clean the filter.

You have a major problem if your getting oil back to the rear tire.

That doesn't make any sense. Oil mixed with air that gets by the breather filters in the heads is designed to exit via the breathers and is vented to the intake to be burned which is not good for your engine, and the purpose of doing a breather bypass is to vent this oil-air mixture either to a collection configuration or an atmosphere dump like I use with the breather filter and other folks do by the tube to the road. After a few thousand miles, especially if you ride hard in hot weather and inadvertently put in a little too much oil, there can easily be a noticeable oil film that spreads rearward around the end of an open bypass vent hose. When my breather filter gets full of oil, I start noticing oil spray on my push rod tubes...now, if that were vented down below the engine without a filter, where do you suppose it goes?

NO doubt about it, the breather hose dumped under the bike puts a filthy film underside. When I wash my bike I do the underside too once in awhile.
It's not a big problem and not enough to get on the rear tire and make things dangerous. I've dumped it under the bike for 38 yrs with no problems.

I too vent to the atmosphere and have a draft tube on the frame. I cut the end at a 45 so points down and not back. No mess on the underside
