Ya it's snot, and after Warranty is done is when the corrosion will start to have affect on the trans. It will hit the shift paw, dogs and shift cam the worst with them not being in oil.

You people seem to think the engine or trans can "taste" oil or some ****. Mixing tiny bit of oil with "redline" or whatever magic elixir you use is not going to cause an atomic reaction.

This breather bypass crap has turned many of you into fanatics. If your engine is blowing that much oil out the breathers then you are getting way too much blow by and have other problems. Although most of you will make a thousand excuses why that can't be the case in your engine.
OK this is what collected in my catch can, You can put it in your tranny, Not me.

I'll add that we have humidity of 50%-99% every day of the year down here, Hot days/Cool nights water condenses inside the cases every night. You have to get the motor up to running temp to turn that moisture into vapor and blow it out the vent.

The 2017 M8 engine does Not route the blow-by into the transmission.

Here are a couple of photo's of the tiny stock filter element with the breathers venting the blow-by into the filter element, just like HD has been doing for years.

You can see the hoses coming off the breather bolts to a T connector, then the hose off the T goes into the back of the filter.

The following pics, showing what happens to a Twin Cam...no reason to expect that the M8 piston tops will have any different results.

I did 2 DK kits this weekend. One DIY kit on a SE backplate with slotted breather channels. The other a DK optimized kit with spacers to fit a PM Supergas. All went well.

Filled in the breather channels and added rubber caps over the breather bolt holes with parts found at Advance Auto.

Kevin - Clint: I like this set-up. I would prefer a small catch can to a filter or straight tube. I don't want oil on my bike, nor do I want to mark my garage or someone's driveway. But where to mount the can securely that looked good & would be easy to access has been the issue.

I do have a question. First, I am running an SE Stage I inside the stock cover on my '14 Limited; you (Kevin) have already advised the kit DK-TC-BRT-CC is what I would want for my bike. With that A/C in mind, would the can dangling in this set-up move around enough to mar the finish on the engine? Would the stainless braided hose be stiffer & hold the can more rigidly?

I did my bypass kit about 10K miles with a little filter on the end and it's gets loaded with the thick dirty oil every few thousand miles, If you don't get on the bike very hard then it has very little benefit but if you like me ride the crap out of this will help keeping your engine cleaner. I saw an episode on Motor Week TV show proving the benefits of the catch can kit on some cars and Guss mentioned it if you don't drive hard then you won't see any benefit.
