Response from V&H on scraping power duals

You guys scare me. I have a 2015 Ultra Classic Low on the way. Ground clearance on it is even lower than a SG. If I want to go catless header what pipe DO you recommend ?
One thing about it, I know going in that I bought a bike with minimal ground clearance and that's the price I pay for being able to flat foot a 900 lb bagger.

Take a look at S&S Power Tune Duals. I dont have them but I am hearing good things about those. I may put them on next summer...

Fuel Moto's pipe has the same x-over as V&H but fits the same as stock exhaust. Never caused any problems leaning (footboard brackets hit first).

If you have V&H power duals on any HD touring bike it will scrape at the X if you ride the twisties somewhat aggressively. My Fuel Moto stainless header with 4.5 pro touring mufflers will not scrape under any riding circumstances.... unless you go down (wreck). My footboard brackets and footboards scrape first. My bike is an '11 RGU stock height.

Whether you notice it or not, the ground clearance is gone. If you're an easy rider, you may never notice it but god forbid you have to get into a situation where you are exceeding your normal lean angle. A good example is the pic above which shows the scraped footboard bracket. You could never do this with power duals. The V&H would cause your rear tire to kick out way before you ground on your bracket.
So, bottom line is that they DO reduce clearance and hopefully these types of threads will help educate future buyers. IMO, if you drag footboards on the regular, these pipes are deadly.
