Default Stuck Breather Gear

Hi All, I am new to this forum but have been viewing your posts for years and ran across a problem on my '87 FLH that has me puzzled.

I heard strange noises coming from the cam area so I pulled off the cam cover and removed cam- looks good.

I then went to pull the steel breather and it is stuck in there!
Steel spacer washer cracked in half and scoring on the camcover.

Breather gear turns freely for half a turn then tight for half a turn.

I tried to gently apply pressure with screwdriver to slide it out no luck.

Why is this breather gear stuck in there and how the heck can I pull it out?

Anyone else had this problem?

Plz help.

Thank You

My 88 the breather gear was plastic- and just pulled straight out.

I'd suggest you go to the Evo forum where smart guys fix stuff.
