RE: Hog Tunes upgrade
Hey Rob
Thanks for all the kind words, and we are working on vids. I would like to see yours again, and maybe will post it on my testimonials page if your interested--maybe email it to me??
Typically, the last piece in the audio chain is what provides power to the speakers. If the radio is 20 watts, and the amp is 40 watts, the forst 20 is lost when it supplies input signal into the amp. The amp only is what powers the speakers.
In our case, we use the "hi level" speaker leads from the HD radio to supply signal into our amp. Once the signal gets captured, unlike the the HD system, we do not waste the radios power, we use it to power extra speakers elsewhere on the bike if present.
Hope this makes sense (eh) Take care and RIDE SAFE!--PEZ

RE: Hog Tunes upgrade
Hi all,
My name is Carlos and I'm from Spain.
I've gota 1997Electra Glide Ultra Classic and I was wondering if any of you could give me some feedback on how I could upgrade my radio system (player, speaker, amp, etc.) I would like to keep the handlebar control to work and if possible I would like to be able to hear the music trough the intercom.
Many thanks

I just put the full blown Hog Tunes set up in my Classic about a month ago, and couldn't be happier. You can't tell it by looking, the rear speaker pods look just like stock, and the sound is great. I can actually get the radio louder than I like at 80 mph. Not loud where it sounds bad, but loud where it's too loud.
Do it you won't be sorry. Installation was as easy as every one says and the only down side, if it is a down side, is that with out the engine running, when you turn on the key, you can hear a hissing through the speakers because the power amp is on. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
