This happened to me last Monday at the end of. 2300 mile trip. Going 65 mph on the Chicago Skyway when the light comes on and it looses power. Ran a mile or so at low rpm then coasted to the shoulder. Turned the bike on and off a couple of times and suddenly came back to life.

Google Harley limp mode and you will find many threads on this problem.
