Default What tools are neeed?

I am not much of a wrench but if its easyI don't mind trying. I found one of my saddle bags coming loose didn't have simple wrenches went to Sears picked up a set and a Torx driver set. What other basic tools will I need for simple jobs?

A good variety of combination wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, and torx bits (also known as "star" bits). A torque wrench and some locktite would also be good to have handy.

Make sure your torx set has 25 & 27 in there. You'll need a set of hex drivers or keys. Get a good 3/8" in drive socket set. A torque wrench is a good idea; two would be better - in-lbs & ft-lbs. That will get ya started. Be prepared to buy more if you do more yourself.

You can never have too many tools. I have a Craftsman Black bottom, middle drawers and top chock full, and damn if I dont come up a tool short at times for something I am doing...drives me nutz!

You may want to invest in a metric socket set, preferably 12 point as some of the fasteners(example: caliper bolts)are odd sized and metric seems to be right.

YeahI know that problem, butI got an easy fix for mine. I call my older brother and remind him to bring back the tool he "borrowed".
