Default Thinking about a Road King

I'm thinking about getting a used Road King between now and spring.

I'd like to get a 2010 or newer. The KBB prices in that range match my budget pretty well.

Are some years better than others? Are there some years that are best to stay away from or perhaps have quirks I should be aware of?

Thanks.

I'd get an 09 over a 10 because the 09s don't have cats in the header pipe, unless it's a CA edition.

Agreed. In fact, the only reason I would want a 2010 or 2011 over the 2009 would be for color preference. They came out with the 103 in 2012.

I love my 2013, but the only bike I can compare it to was my Sportster. Night and day between the two but definitely glad I made the upgrade to the RK.

I just upgraded to a '12 Road King from a '07 Fatboy, night and day difference! My Road King is an ex Police bike with only 3100 miles. 103", oil cooler and anti-lock brakes...this bike is awesome!

Right-On...09 RKC is what I have and absolutely love it. It rides and handles great in city or highway............

I saw that. Supposedly sold for $10k, but that's suspect.

If true, I'm so

Thanks for all the info so far. Good stuff.

I'm planning on doing a test ride at the dealer in the near future just to be sure it's a good fit, but I'm liking the looks.
