I've got the commander II's... I put the back on when my factory Dunlop gave out at 12,000. The front lasted untill 17,000 but then I replaced it with a commander II also. BUT I will say that the Michilin's ARE SMOOTH. Very smooth..But I also put dyna beads into them. My dunlops were cuped out, both of them, despite my best efforts to maintain the pressure in them. My new back tire, of course, has 5,000 miles on it and still looks new. I'm liking the commanders at this point. I'm going to the fall rally in PCB Panama city beach fl. Gonna put 600 miles on them 2 up. By the way, most of my miles are 2 up.

Can't get to page 2 as I have a puter issue so sorry if this has been mentioned already. First of all I have ran the Commander II's a couple times and not very happy with mileage or handling, particularly in tar snakes. Never ran the 880 but the trip 8's are awesome tires and my now go to tire. I also ran the Dunlop E III a number of times and a great tire but holding onto the 888. On the plus side I can find any tire for either of my bikes. Also great deals to be had n sites like Jake Wilson and Dennis Kirk.

Just replaced my rear Metzeler 888 with a hair over 16k on it. Still had a whisper of tread left, but it caught a nail so I swapped. While the wet traction was a tiny bit suspect, (not unexpected really) it wore like iron and rode great, 1 up, 2 up, slow speed, interstate... I would not hesitate to buy it again.

I swapped for a Dunlop American Elite. Why? I'm curious how it will hold up and handle compared to the Metzeler. And it's made in the USA. I'll let you all know in about 15k miles...

I replaced my 880's with the Commander II's looking for some more mileage out of the rear tire. The Comm II's handle tar snakes, road grooves, any problems with road surface very well, but sometimes i get a little wobble that was not there with the 880's. I don't think I care FOR them and will go to the 888's next time. Talked to a guy the other with a SG and he has 14000 on his front 888 and 11000 on the rear 888

(Yesterday) Tire is sort of skimpy compared to Metzler and especially Dunlop. Took 4 times the weight to balance and still fills buzzy ($20 which was not included in free mounting no less). I jacked it up and it has about 1/16" runout. Probably the buzz I fill. May sound like Michelin would be quality but appears to be junk from Thailand which is where it is made. My rear Michelin was made in Spain. It howls like crazy in a hard turn.
Up date..Some miles on the front Michelin.. Now that it is scuffed, it squeaks like the hard Metzler did on my slick garage floor. It may be my imagination but at speed, it appears to ride firmer at speed at the same tire pressure of 30 lbs as the Metzler . Just like the Dunlop 402. It does not howl in the turn like the rear Mechlin but the tread pattern is different and the rear is the Spain worded Commander which over there is called Macadam I guess but my invoice called it a Commander. I rebalanced it static on my stand and it took 1/4 oz directly 180 from the stem. Exactly like the Metzler. Dealer had four 1/4 ozs weights on it that would fall toward the ground with wheel on bike with the caliper drag off..

30 PSI is way to low for a Michelin or a Metzeler. I'd run at least 40 in either. That would explain the squeaking.

This is a Softail Deuce with a slightly overgrown bicycle tire on the front. 30 front/36 rear is book. Why would you think it should run more than the OEM Dunlop? 80/90x21
