Default K&N RK-3909 Users-Oil Blowback

Any of you guys seeing oil blowback in your breathers?
I noticed tonite after a ride oil dripping on timer cover, not a huge amount
just enough to know it was coming from the air cleaner.
Is this a normal occurance or should I be concerned
Thanks Much,
Hinzy

I get a little on mine. I just wipe it off and wipe the lower inside part of the cover. If you take it back to the dealer, they will tell you to put the stock AC back on to eliminate the problem

search under oil misting, you'll find a lot of discussio on this issue. pretty common, especially on a long, hard ride. Make sure you aren't overfilling the engine oil, i leave mine down about halfway from full.
i have the issue on my WG with a SE AC riding two up on a long distance ride, but thus far have not had that problem on my UC with a AN Big Sucker.

That spray is pretty normal. On the stock breather the oil was piped back into the carb intake. With a hiflow breather there isn't any way to get it into the carb. I installed an HD backplate that has two small pipes from the breather boltd into the carb. Seems to have fixed/ redirected the problem.

Mine does it as well. I just wipe the back (inside) of the cover with an old t-shirt after every ride. No big deal.

I cut a chunk of black foam rubber about 1x2" and placed it directly under the K&N filter. It soaks up the oil and every few months I'll remove it and wring it out.

Hmmm... I have never noticed it. Wonder if something is wrong that I don't have it. I went with a SE, should mine have this issue?
