I was going to take pics when I installed mine but didn't. Installation is a simple plug and play operation. You unplug the stock antenna from the back of the radio and plug in the Boom antenna. There is a power cable to the right of the radio that you plug the antenna into for power. The most difficult part was just finding a good spot to mount the antenna as there is very little space under the new RG fairing.

Just a note about the fairing mounted antennas. The original stock antenna is vertically mounted and receives equally well in all directions. A horizontally mounted fairing antenna is Bi-Directional, meaning it will receive equally well from the front and back but null the signal off the sides. If you ride in the primary coverage area of your radio stations you won't notice this too much if at all. Once you get out into the fringes it will become readily apparent, you will get deep fades of signals especially on turns or hilly areas. Something to consider if you travel a lot or live in a weaker radio coverage area.

I use one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Am-Fm-Hi...3e3eb9&vxp=mtr. Worked ok until I added a Class D amp

Similar to WI Bob, with a little twist, I swapped HD shorty for Boom and added Y-cable to connect Boom & Auto-Zone car antenna mounted sideways above radio. Worked pretty good, but still had poor FM reception on hills and distances. Then saw note from Custom Dynamics IRT distortion from installing LED lighting. Changed ground on their load equalizer and voila...problem solved. Guess my point is for riders w/LED lighting...make sure you check your grounding points as they can interfere w/audio.
