I agree, flip a coin on either GMR or HQ. I went a different way, staying with HD heads and pistons, woods cam and a few other small aftermarket goodies. I didnt do this without consulting with the cam manufacturer, Bob Woods and got suggestions on what works best with particualr cams I was interested in. When you mix and match, you need to understand how all the components will work together, so kits like GMR and HQ are great in that all components are proven to work together.

I stayed with HD as I built a monster last time without too much trouble - 95" 102hp, 115tq from HD heads and pistons, Woods cams and a few other small items, and it was reliable as all get out, 40k trouble free miles.

All depends on you builder too, you gonna do it? Gonna have a shop so it, if you have a good indy shop, then HQ/GMR are fine. Taking it to a dealer, then recommend sticking to the HD build that they are familiar with or modifying it a bit as I did, but not without some homework.

I'm loving my GMR stg II kit thus far. Only 200 miles on it since we got snow but what a difference. I had R&R do the work.

Use some of that for a chrome inner primary if you haven't already done so. You can't believe how much that improves the look of the left side of the bike. I think that part being chromed adds a couple horses too.

120 JIMS..sell the 88, add about 1500 to the 3 grand you have...and end up with a beast.

Depends on what your finish goal is.If adding few more ponies and dressing up then check around and make sure good shop.Do the upgrades you mentioned and have fun.Personaly Id go with selling motor and going to the 120 Jims or buy the 120 screaming eagle bore it out add new pistons keeping compression around 10 or 10.5 good cams and induction system. While this will run more if you spend 3gs then go back for more later it will cost more in long run to get there if you make 4or 5 up grades before ending up happy.I found this out the hard way.Now days I save up untilI can the most because I always end up there anyway.

I have used Headquaters on quite a few builds and they alwaysperform as promised! Doug really knows his stuff, he suggested going up to 10.7-1 and using his 0033 cam on my06 FLHX would producebetter than 110 hp and just shy of 120 tq. It surpassed bothand is very easy to ride!It also walks away from my friends ultra with the Jims 120 in it.
