I know this is a pic thread but I am badly wanting to buy a new street glide and all of your pics are making it worse for me.Currently have an 06' night train and wondered if some of your input could help to sell me on the glide. I am torn between a heritage and street glide but right now I am heavily leaning towardsthe street glide. I've been on aheritage and an ultra but never on a street glide. Just curious as to how the fairing w/short windshield does against wind/bugs and for those of you that had softails before, do you miss them at all now that you have the glide. Any disadvantages? All feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks for the help.

hi Steve

I think it is a change of approach. I just swapped my deluxe in for a SG and it is due to arrive within a month, I cant wait.

I wanted bags but didnt like the 'frilly' look of the heritage and wanted a ride that was more modern in style.

I dont think the short screen on the glide will offer much protection but you can switch it out for a longer one for highway journeys.

I liked the modern look, the small screen for round town, the hard bags for practicality etc.

I think the ride will be very different due to the 'shake' from the rubber mounted engine...I loved the ride on the deluxe but thought I could live with the change.

For me the positives outweighed any negatives...and it was the look I wanted now as opposed to the traditional style.

Just my view, each to their own of course!

Just joined this forum today and am really enjoying looking over all the pictures that have been posted here.

I bought my Street Glide in Oct. 2005 and for a while had the only one like it around here. Now there are blacked out FLHXs everywhere so I'm looking at paint and a power upgrade to 103 this year.

New wheels wouldn't hurt any either. Looks like Primo, Hillbilly and I could put together a pretty bad a$$ set of cop bikes. lol I like the wheels on both your bikes and have looked into a set just like those Primo has but I didn't think you'd be able to see them considering the dual disks. I was wrong, they look just fine. Next thing on my list.

Hi Steve80,
I just picked up my 07 StreetGlide and the plan was to also keep my 05 night train. After a week of owning the new bike, I sold my night train. I found myself not wanting to ride it anymore. It is alot smoother, easier to ride and my back no longer bothers me. You will not regret. At 6"5" I had to put a bigger shield on. 8" w/ recurve/

Steve80, I went from a 2000 Fatboy to a 2007 Streetglide, I have to say it was the best dam move I ever made.. I loved the way my fatboy handeled. She was a great bike,Beautiful too. But there is just no comparison to the ride you get with a SG. IMHO. As for the windshield. I took it off the first day and replaced it with an 8" windshield that i bought on Ebay.com. for $25.00. I think the Stealer wants $114.00. I put in a SERT, and Rinehart true duals. This bike absolutley Screams. I hope this helps in you decision.

Good Luck,Be Safe
