I just cut the factory down to about 12 inches...works just as good when it 3 feet long...I tried a short stubby but did not get good reception!

I took my factory one off and installed an AutoZone one inside the fairing. Have had no problems with receptin.

What type of Auto Zone Antenna did you install? The short rubber one? How's your reception out of the city?

Timex,
The one I used is made for inside cars. It is metal and has the wire in the middle. It is about 12" long (6 on each side of the center wire box). It is an amplified antenna.

I just took my antenna apart and cut it down to 14" in length and re installed it. Looks real clean and have no problems with reception at all.

This is the bike that inspired the factory to shave the extra "dodads" off the baggers and manufacture a clean bike that turns heads. It's based on a '94, stroked and slammed. The other riders are suprised when a bagger blows past them.
