My427stang,

I've got the same bike ordered (vivid black with the profile spoke wheels); should be here by the end of next week. So tell me what that 96" is all about. My wife and I rented the 88" Road King a couple of times and I'm just wondering what kind of power increase the 96" is gonna have to offer. One of the other posts said it could lift the front wheel. What do you think?
I've also got the vented lowers, chopped tour pack, cruise control, passing lamps and a bunch of other goodies coming along with it. I'm freakin psyked.

mtpoland, since you asked about power, I'll tell you about my black 07 SG. When I bought it and rode it away from the dealer I was real dissappointed in the motor. It felt torqey at low RPM's (2000-2500) but then felt no different than a stock 88" motor at higher RPMs. After 200-300 miles of break-in, I was starting to smile. It felt like my old stage 1 88" RK. As the miles grew, it got even better. Now with 1000 miles it feels like a stage 1 95" build. I've heard this from a few other 07 owners also, so I guess the engines come very tight from the factory and loosen up with break-in moreso than previous years. My 07 is still completely stock but the pipes also sound a lot louder and better than when brand new. I had heard somewhere that they have fiberglass wrap in them. If that's the case, they will probably continue to improve in sound.

I gotta tell ya,
As I first started to read your reply, I was dissappointed. Then, as I read on, I started to smile. Now I'm totally f-ing psyked. I just called the dealer and I finally got my VIN. The bike should be at the dealer by the 23rd and ready to ride next weekend.
Can't wait! Got a trip through Ark planned as soon as the bike comes in.

Hey that is a really nice job on the SG.
I know this was an old post but just curious where you got the seat and what type of disc brakes did you have put on?

Thanks!

Sweet lookin bike.
I've got the passing lamps and the lowers coming on mine. What kind of seat is that and is there a noticable difference from the stock seat? And if you don't mind, what other options did you have installed on it?

Okay, I'm not a happy camper! The dealer just told me that because of a shipping container problem, I'm gonna have to wait another week for my bike. I was really looking forward to riding this weekend and the dealer just stomped on my dreams. Oh well.
