RE: The Official Streetglide "Picture" Thread
Need advise, bought my o6 streetglide back in winter. I had Hd install the 103 kit from the get go. The problem I'm having which seems to get worse when shes good and hot is it is spittin, poppin and missing. First I thought maybe a fouled up plug so I installed some screamin eagle plugs and wires. Didnt help at all. What do you all think? maybe a remap? I ruled out gas cause Ive been through many tanks.
Thanks,
Thanks,

I found that on my '07 anything under 2K RPM seems to bog down the engine in 4th gear and higher. I also noticed that I'm likely to be 'speeding' just in order to get into 6th gear. At 75MPH the engine was humming with plenty of headroom at roughly 2300-2400 RPM.
My pipes are getting changed next, which will require upgraded high-flow air intake kit, power commander, and re-mapping. The sound of the stock pipes, although much improved versus the '06 models, still lacks the sound I'm looking for. I'm not looking for the sound of straight pipes but I would like to be heard before being seen in traffic.

Toad or anyone else that's looking for a change to larger windshield for the street-glide; Don't spend the ridiculous amount that HD wants for a piece of Lexan at over 100 bucks. I picked up a 6.5" dark smoked windshield for around 22 bucks, 30 with shipping. They are CNC machined and drop right in. Shipping was very fast and the windshield comes with the protective plastic still adhered to both sides so you don't have to worry about getting scratches during shipment.
check them out at: www.sinstatecycle.com
I purchased mine via their ebay site and they have different sizes to choose from. I'm only 5'7" and the 6.5" is fine for getting the wind just over the small visor on my helmet without totally eliminating wind around my head which I want. The stock windshield smacked the wind right into my forehead.

I bought an 06 and put a 103 kit in it. I have always been a little skeptical about buying a first year new engine (96"). The 06 is tried and true and runs like a champ. Ofcoarse HD has got a good rep now and the bigger engine may be worth the few extra dollars, you need to compare $ and should be able to get a deal on a 06. The sales manager up at Battley told me he hasnt had an excess of extra bikes like now in many years.
