Thank you for sharing Terry.
A lot of people are going thru difficult times now and when you read or hear of something like this, it makes some of us realize how well we have it and how we take life for granted.
God Bless all the people who serve, protect, and fight for our freedoms.

I'm posting this here because I want more people to read it and understand.
I was at Starbucks this morning having a cup of coffee and reading the paper. I noticed that the body of a local fallen soldier was going to be transported from our local airport, through our town and to a town just north of here. The fallen soldier was also a local law enforcement officer and there were gonna be lots of LEO's and last but not least, The Patriot Guard, escorting his body. A few minutes into my coffee I noticed the Local PD blocking the intersection where I was. I thought to myself, too bad for the Patriot Guard Riders due to the snow that was coming down pretty hard at that time. I figured that part of the procession would be a wash. To my surprise, when the procession came by, who was right up front but the Patriot Guard Riders on their Harleys with their flags flying proud behind their bikes. It brought a tear to my eye. It was slick as snot out and about 25 degrees but that didn't stop them. The fallen soldier has a wife and 4 very young children. The procession lasted a good ten minutes with people standing in the snow along the road watching it go by and waiving flags.

I hate the sight of a military funeral.... means another American Hero paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
thanks for the post, and thanks to all the PGRs just quietly doing their thing. I've been on too many funeral missions, and not enough "welcome home" missions.
I love my country and respect and honor all who defend her - both today and all the yesterdays.

Standing a flag line at 100 or at 20 degrees, riding in support, respecting & protecting the family, and other acts are so freely done by the PGR... those little sacrifices are just nothing compared to the sacrifices made by those being honored.
Our most recent mission honoring a Marine Sgt. killed by an IED was threatened by a potential ugly MT storm. The result: 20 PGRs, some who came 300 miles for the memorial. These are the things that men and women must do.......

Very touching story. I don't think enough can be said toward those who have defended are rights and those who will in the future. The men and women are willing to sacrifice for people they do not know. as far as I am concerned those are the real hereos and not the ones who play sports or such.
