What is the gain for putting these people through a meatgrinder? What is the mission? Who is the enemy? Who do we hold responsible for the conduct of this war? Where is all the money going?
If we want to fight a war, let's fight a war. The war is not magnetic ribbons and motorcycle parades. The war is two legs and four fingers. The war is certain people getting rich while certain other people die.
We should not shoulder the burden of this war on a small group of our citizens who, for whatever reason, joined the military. If a war is important enough to fight we should all give up our sons and daughters equally. We should not demand tax breaks while the people who do fight fight with minimalsupport and return to minimal veteran's services.
We should take the darn hill and keep it!
The problem is, the leaders of this country know the people of America are probably not willing to support the troops beyond the yellow ribbons and parades. To increase the capacity of our military to take and keep those hills would require the draft, andincreasing and actually paying for our war expenditures.
Sorry for the rant, but Jesus... two legs and four fingers!

Sandy,

The name of this forum is support for the troops. While I respect your right toyour views and to voice them, perhaps a better place would be the political forum.

For the PGR member doing his first mission - thank you. What I have found is that most of the families are in utter disbelief that strangers care enough to either welcome thier loved ones home or show respect by the flag line.

We all should show our support in any way we can.One way to show your support is to VOTE for who ever you think is best, regardless of political views on the war. That is after all, a large part of what it's about - Freedom - If someone can sacrifice like this gentleman did, the least we can do is spend a little of our time in a flag line or a voting booth.

Hey Jack, just saw your post today while scanning through the forum. I was on that ride too. We picked Raymond up at the WRAMC and escorted his car out to the first stop at the Maryland House rest top, then joined in the long line of bikes over to the Delaware rest stop then on to his home town. I didn't know they were planning a parade for him until we pulled off in the staging area just out of Deptford. We caught rain all the way back to Stafford, VA that night, but it was worth the ride to honor Raymond.

Welcome to the PGR Jack, it restore my faith in the American people when I see the streets lined with patriots, Cub Scouts and businessmen/women holding the American flag during a mission.

First let me say THANK YOU!!grasman

Second scrane, I aint "jumping on you". I am going to say: I as a Soldier Deployed to IRAQ now. If something happens to me GOD forbid. Please Patriot Guard come and Show your support. If one Person steps forward to my family or near them in protest STOP THEM!!
I appreciate what the PGR does for the Soldiers! When I return I will do the same.

There are GREAT AMERICANS out there who do support us. Have you ever been to an Airport as troops pass through on the way too or from Combat? Those Great members of the USO are there SUPPORTING US! They have these giant hands and line us up and we march behind them while they clap for us while we walk to the plane. Ifyou think this is not Heart felt, you are verywrong. I remember this clear as day and it has been a year. Thank you USO. I have been supported by members on this forum. A Felow rider I have never met sent me Razor blades cause I could not get them here. Thank you Master Blaster!!! This means allott to me. However small it was it means allott to the Boots on ground Soldier.

I The Soldier am here because the President Said so. No questionsI have Met my enemy, you think they are not here. Join Put on a Uniform and roam the streets of Iraq. He will seek you out and try to KILL you. No introduction needed he will be the one trying to Kill you and your brothers in Uniform.

I SAY THANK YOU PATRIOT GUARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will continue the mission, you keep supporting the troopswho come home in need.

My Rant is over.

Tell your family. We respond to requests by the family directly or through the funeral director or CAO.
