Bad news about the fine, 2mph is a real pain in the butt. At least your wife is supporting you by doing the course with you.

32 in a 30?!

thats some bullshit right there.

"hey nice paint, yeah great pipes, wow, like that...here's your ticket, you ride safe now."

that's some more bullshit

i guess you're guilty of riding past a cop who didn't get laid last night.

You may want to check your state laws regarding the course. Here they mandate that you have your temps. The course only validates the riding portion.

With the luck that I usually have I would never attempt to ride w/o a permit. I bought my first street bike at 17 and had my endorsement within a week.

Local judges are all different, but I have heard of people getting the endorsement and going to the prosecutor or judge and asking for leniency. Sometimes they will either drop it or reduce charges.

First step is to get the endorsement though. Might also be cheaper to get a lawyer on that one.

I noticed that when my wife got her license last year. But she got hers in May or so of last calendar year, so am wondering if she actually has to wear it until May to keep from breaking the law. Of course thats not a worry as she says she is going to wear it regardless.

I've been riding for over 20 years without a mc endorsement. Last year when I went to get my A CDL renewed (which I never use but I guess it's good to have for those just in case times) I was told by a DPS officer that Texas was about to make it mandatory to have a riders training course before you could get the mc endorsement. So I went the next week and got my mc endorsement. The DPS office in Bryan, Tx. really sucks because if you don't get there at 5:00am then you will not get a driving test and they don't even open until 8:00. Yeah, the line builds up that fast.

I got popped in Fort Worth when I was 16. I was riding my first bike, a Honda Shadow without a helmet and that was why he stopped me. It was obvious that I wasn't 21. I always remember him looking at my license and then he frowned and said, "Boy you don't even have a MC endorsement". I got a ticket for that and no helmet. This was 9 years ago so I don't remember how much it cost me but I know it wasn't all that much. Looking back and remembering the look on his face was pretty funny.
