I just got my Nightster and put on Vance and Hines Short Shots. Bike looks and sounds awesome, like a Harley should. I think that these are the loudest pipes that I have ever had. So, I have now become concerned that they may be too loud for certain places. I live very close to New Hope, PA. This place has long been a destination of mine even when I was living in NY. I have heard that recently they have been ticketing in New Hope for loud pipes. I have personally seen cops giving tickets constantly for meters - cars and bikes alike. I would like to know if anyone out there has personally received a ticket for pipes in New Hope, shore towns or anywhere else.

 

Might try posting in the regional area for Pennsylvania. Might be more likely to get the attention of someone from that area over there.

 

I have short shots as well and haven't had any problems that weren't self-inflicted. When I first got the bike I ran it without baffles and was cited for a defective muffler. I put the baffles in and haven't had any encounters since. I've even been directly tailed by local LEOs and not had a problem. I'm also a big believer in it's how you ride, or lay on the throttle, as well. Be smart, but be aware that there are communities that'll light you up no problem as the short shots are louder than any city ordnance I've come across.
