That would be ok, it he lets it lay on his desk until July 13th, then it becomes law effective on Aug 28th. I really think that is what he is gonna do..

It still doesn't hurt to call and let his office know you want him to support it. When Mel Carnahan was governor HE promised FORR the same thing, then vetoed it at the last minute anyway. There is LOTS of pressure coming from modot and others for a veto. I have called and emailed, and calling is faster. A real person will answer and you just tell them who you are, where you live and that you urge the Governor to let SB 202 become law.

Yep your are right, been doing that and encouraging all riders to do the same. I know the opposition is working hard to get him to veto it, but I feel he really wants the insurance part of the bill passed. There is enough restrictions built into the law to maybe get it by him. We can only wait and see, only 16 more days..

Well, I guess I got a lot of egg on my face. The Governor VETOED the helmet law this morning. I was at another bill signing with him at noon and didn't know it or might have stuck my foot in my mouth big time...Now all we can do is hope we got enough support in the legislature to override the veto, but I doubt it. Guess I shouldn't take a man at his word, especially politicians who just wanted the check for his campaign..

It's not your fault. He probably read some of the donation threads here, you know the ones for the families facing huge debts after their loved one died exercising his freedom to ride without a helmet.

Is there an "inappropriate post of the day" award around here? Because I think we have a winner.
And I assume you're going to donate to this guy: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/mount...ider-down.html

Sorry to hear you guys got shafted.
Keep up the fight.
Here in CT we keep a close watch on every bill as they try to attach a helmet law to anything.
