And just how many deaths were directly contributed to kids eating ATV batteries??
Probably none, sounds like another "special interest group" getting there way behind
closed doors to me, and I bet they don't give a crap about the lead batteries either,
just another step in eliminating off-road riding.

Excuse me Crapshooter; but if your grandkids started riding at around 67 years of age how old are you??? Sorry couldn't resist!

I know I saw this on the news last night. They had a dealer that had all of his inventory in the back room because he could not sell it. Oh yeah, children are stupid enough to suck on the fenders of a mini-bike. Of course our clueless leaders are now debating this issue, perhaps it would have been wise to consider the ramifications before you set the law into motion. Lets all her it for “Change”.
Sonia Hayes-Pleasant, a spokesperson for the Consumer Products Safety Commission says the concerns of the motorsports industry are being taken into consideration and the Commission hopes to "issue guidance in the very near future."

First of all, this is a knee jerk reaction to the lead toys that made it into the country from China last year, because they now manufacture ALL our chit over there, and they do not have the same regs as we have concerning lead. So instead of making chit here, we allow them to make it over there (corp profits), and then come up with some draconian band aid, to fix the prob. This is that draconian band aid.
On top of that, it is the Gubments job to NOT let that chit in our borders to start with. NOT turn a blind eye to it and the corp profiteers, and then pull some stunt like this, to cover their azzes.

Second, the used market shouldn't go bonkers, BECAUSE this is retro active, blanket coverage. Covers ANY of them, no matter the year.
Yep, that's what it says and what I've read and heard. There is no Grandfather clause. They are all off limits as of the 10th.

And you are ALL correct, when you say it is killing the dealers. They have had to pull ALL the minis, scooters and small MX bikes off the floor and hide them. And they are paying for that inventory, every day.

Export the rest of the jobs and manufacturing. Good thing 'bout that, none of us will have any money to buy these, or anything else.
Turns out, FREE trade isn't so FREE after all, Huh?

BUT rest assured,
The check is in the mail.
Of course I'll respect you in the morning if you swallow.
Hi, I'm from the Gubment, and I'm here to HELP you.

Please, before ya all start ranting on the new Prez, this was in the works long before the election.
BUT keep your eye on ALL of them in D.C. As is usual, it is now profit vs what is right. And you are right, folks, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

I watch the BBC to get news that will not make it onto our screens here. This morning, AIR BAG VESTS for motorcycle riders. Don't ya just love the Insurance Institute and these do-gooders??

That is really just unbelievable. Kids can not do anything anymore. With that being said - must be a high percent of battery licking kids??????? Remember the Mr. Yuck stickers when we were in school. They were put on objects that were poisenous. Other than testing a 9v battery to see if it was good - I never licked a battery - any of you? Makes you wonder what the heck is wrong with kids as well. Who is the first kid to try it? If he doesn't die do others jump in. Crazy world. Shame for kids who want to ride - maybe for competitions - others ruin it for everyone.

Greetings,

Yes, this flat out sucks and affects me directly! On Tuesday we had to remove all of our Yamaha TT-R50s, Suzuki LT-A/Z50s, and DR-70s off of the floor and we can't do a thing with them for now. Fortunately we sold out of the Polaris and Yamaha 50cc atvs! It's just a pain in the *** and the manufacturers for now aren't doing anything about it. You can't send the inventory back or anything.

Our wonderful "Big Brother" is taking such good care of us! I feel so priviledged to know that we are being after and protected so well from ourselves. This is freakin' ridiculous!! I have been riding since I was 10 years old and not once have I been inclined to try to eat my bike. I don't know of anyone who has. WTF!!!

Ah, yes... but they will be so happy being coddled, caressed, fed, told what to do by our new socialist regime!

Think I'm gonna move up to the mountain place where nuthin' can get within six clicks of the property without being seen!
