Okay, I live in the areas mentioned. Ride Cooks Corner almost every week and I have loud fishtail slip-ons on the Road King.
This thread is almost a year old and I have not seen anybody get the loud pipes ticket.

So what's the deal, is this a real concern or just BS ??????

Anybody here get a ticket?

This is one of the reasons my bike is stock other than some chrome items. I'm happy with the bike as it is in fact and dont even have to blink if I ever do see one of those "check points" we keep hearing about but I've never seen.

I've lived in San Diego, Calif for 25 yrs, it's got it's issues but no big complaints from me here cuz no place is perfect. The weather is the best on earth and if you like to ride there's thousands of miles of back country roads and mountains to cruise. I lived in the Chicago area for 20 yrs and couldnt stand the cold/snow, hot/humid summers, mosquitos that harass you to death, etc. I'll take So Cal anytime personally...

 

eh....I wouldn't worry about that if I were you. We have had a helmet law for about 20 years now and you still have a choice in AZ

 

I run a D&D with standard baffle. Most motorcycle cops nod or wave.

 

It's all going away anyway... I wouldn't worry about the laws...

Kalifornia is broke... they are stealing the people's overpaid taxes...

Why? Because they spend so much to enforce all the stupid laws and regulations they have on the books already...

Lots of tickets here in CNY Last year summer, mufflers and non-DOT helmets.... Some are deserved, as I'm sick of the obnoxious pipes too. Who want to hear a chainsaw sound ripping thru their area - expecailly at night. (True for the kids with the cars too!)

I run Rinehart's with no issues, but I don't try to draw attention to my self
