When you're at louise, ride the platter to the top. Take few runs on the platter on the front side. Skiers right, and far right, and far far right duck the fence, ski the untracked pow. Then from the top of the Platter drop over the back, but don't go down Whitehorn 1, that's the tourist route. Duck the rope (if it's open) and go skiers left down the steeps. That will get you started. Explore the ER runs off the top of Paradise, remember what I said about falling, and not doing that. lol

Fernie should be doable this year.
Yea do Fernie. Figure out how to get to Sky Dive. It's my favorite run. I once skied it and I **** you not I needed a snorkel. Powder was flowing over my shoulders! Believe me, the run is steep enough.

Funny, my cousin with 3 kids lives in Trail and does Red as his local.
He's a puffy family guy, yet his girls rock Red.
Never visited in the winter. This may be the year.
Hook up with those kids. There's so much there it's impossible to tell you all about it. But it's all good. Steepest run I've ever skied is called Cambodia. Aptly named. Not very many people go there and those that do side step down. So when you enter you'll find a nicely groomed run. It's in the trees so you're skiing through them like salalom gates. And that is literally a fall you die run, you'll get sliding and hit a tree.

Oh, crap I almost forgot to mention cat skiing. We did the Valhalla cats just out of Nelson. Had a day of powder skiing. It was really good.

When I was younger I did a day of helecopter skiing out of Revelstoke. It was good but not worth the money. You can get days like that through the winter at a resort.

We can hook up if you're up here skiing. I'd like to get out for a rip. I'm not in my 30's anymore but I can still get around on the sticks. We'll keep in touch, winter's just around the corner. lol.
