Yea FI will rev a tad high on start up. When the TPS goes it revs about 2k. Biggest tell tale is dieing at stop lights when you come off the freeway. Wouldnt hurt to clean the IAC though. Pop the air cleaner off and cycle the key on and off while spraying some throttle body cleaner in the IAC port.
Advice needed please: Riding in this morning and noticed on the highway that when I get off the throttle, some backfiring happening. Took the exit and put the bike in neutral it stalled. Started right up, but I needed to keep reving or it would die. Finally got to work looking like an "A" hole cause I had to rev non stop at red lights the whole way in. Can't remember if the bike died when I parked it, but pulled off the seat to poke around (no clue what I'm looking for - loose wires) and check around for leaks or something. Bike ran completely normal and took it for a quick uturn donut and all was well. I did add some oil (half a quart) yesterday to get it in the in between add and fill line but it drove fine home.
Bike is an 07 fatboy with 7K on it and I had the 5K service done last year. Any speculation as to why? Someone mentioned maybe poor gas, I used Hess 93 which I have used in the past and actually filled up twice at the same station this week. Another person mentioned fuel filter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If it does I would look for:
1. Fuel Filter plugged
2. Exhaust Leak
3. Coil, plugs, wires
4. CEL codes
Lou , I gave a Harley main drive gear bearing to our bearing rep today. He is going to try and get it sourced, may end up coming from Japan but we'll have something.
Don't tell anyone I said this but banana smoothies work good too.
