Well, back from getting a new shoe put on ol' blue. $201.00 out of the bike budget.


Tire that was on it was made in 13, so not an age issue that caused the cracking. As far as what I considered premature tread wear and after seeing the 1/2" chicken strip, my buddy offered this opinion....


"It's a F'n touring bike and you ride too GD hard!"


Agree to disagree about the riding too hard. I ride the way I like and if I scrape a footboard every now and well then so what?


Next time maybe I'll go with the Michelin Commander IIs
