As is the case with all cocktails, they started as a way to help disguise the awful taste of poorer quality and less refined liquor. These days there is just no excuse for it IMHO.


I got on a single malt scotch kick there for a few years. Mostly Glenfiddich.
I've tried a few times to like scotch, but just can't. Tastes too much like whiskey to me. And me and whiskey had a big fight a few years ago.
