Russ I suspect you're close to la la land by now, but have a good one and hope you don't tell any secrets while you're under !!
Ethanol does a number on fuel lines, if it turns out to be a cracked line try Tygon fuel line it's tough stuff. Morning all.
I'm pretty sure you are allowed some leeway when coming out from under anesthetic Russ.
Worked for me when I bloodied a nun's nose after foot surgery when I was a kid

Had surgery a few years back. As I was coming to, the attending nurse asked me to move my legs. I couldn't as she was leaning on them heavily. She then snapped at me to move them. I unleashed a stream of obscenities that would make a sailor blush. Drs. and wife all come running in to see what the problem was. The nurse says, "He woke up a little cranky." Which provoked another stream.
Not to scare Russ or anything ,he's probably out by now, a couple of years ago I had minor hernia surgery. I came out of anesthesia very badly (shaking uncontrollably ) ,ever sense then I have had ringing in my ears. Had I known that was going to happen , I would not of had it repaired !

That could explain a lot of other things too
