Exactly Doc,
My point was you can buy different base grades (at least when I was buying), and then it was dyed at the terminal upon pick up by the transport depending on the intended use. (off-road or on-road). The base grades, additive packages and dyes are all (3) separate, unique issues.
EDITA: I should qualify my diesel wholesale buying experience dates back about 15 years and I'm sure like everything else all the rules have changed since. Thanks

Glad to help Mark. I have had quite a bit of experience with that particular formula in my life. Always worked great for me

Interesting Stan! According to this guy I know who works for a local fuel company it is exactly the same as the off-road diesel except for the dye. Even went so far as to say that he stood there and watched them put the dye in the highway stuff. But, he may just be full of ****. I don't know...
You don't have to tell me how you changed it brother. Been there done that...
There are a LOT of guys around here who have a tank in the back of the truck to haul off road stuff for tractors, dozers, etc., who have that sucker piped on down into the truck tank.
At any rate, my latest action seems to be working, but I guess a little time will tell for sure. Ran it for about 30 minutes scraping some of the humps out of the road and spreading some gravel and it seemed to be doing fine.

Afternoon recap - Missing teeth, dipping into red-dyed diesel, and where o where to put the gas cap.
