Mornin, Woods, Woodettes and lurkers. Yes, Mike, too much cold weather and it pales in comparison to what some of you guys get. Have to have the plumber in this morning. About 9 last night heard what I thought was a toilet running, couldn't find any of that but sure heard that familiar 'water running somewhere' sound.

Checked everywhere, under sinks, outside bibs, etc. and nothing. Water heater sounded like water was circulating but nothing wet in there, no wet spots on the walls or ceilings...perplexing.

Shut the water to the house off, went to bed and waiting to deal with it today.

Morning, Woodsmen!
Sucks, Mick. Nothing like water problems to brighten your day.

Mornin', Greg. Yeah, the frustration is not being able to figure out where the leak may be. Gonna climb up in the attic to see if anything up there looks wet. Sorry to hear about your truck, man, like Gilda Radner said, 'It's always something'.

No, it's always 10 things! I think it's called "character building."
Hearing water run with no evidence is always scary.

What is it Nietzsche said, 'That which does not kill me makes me stronger'. Not sure I wanna be any stronger. Hell, if this is the worst that happens life is pretty good, there are folks with real problems and issues that are monumental. Knock on wood.

You must've been reading my mind. I was thinking the same. Considering where I was and where a lot of people are, this is an inconvenience.

Not to overly wax philosophical but I look at the issues some have and I am not certain how I'd deal with it. Look the relatively small number of folks who post here regularly and consider the health issues they're dealing with. Really drives home 'if you have your health the rest is manageable.'

Happy Friday! Ride to work today. Monday will be a different story. Hope the truck is done today.

Mornin all. 2° here.. Mick, hope you're wrong about the water thing....hate those problems. Mebby turn the water back on...let things stabilize then note the meter reading....don't run any water....watch and see if the reading changes...
If you can't SEE water anywhere...at least that should tell you if your suspicions are right.

Doc, the problem is I am not much in the plumbing department. When I hear water running and don't see anything wet I'm not sure where to look next other than the piping over head in attic. I'd think if it was the main in the yard there would be wet ground.

On a funny note, my wife asked what we were gonna do for water until the plumber gets here. I said, Sweetie, there's 30,000 gallons in the backyard in the pool, we're not gonna run out.
