I'm prepping a basement. 8" concrete walls, 9' high, 230' of wall. #5's 12" OC. After I waterproof it, no need for anything thicker than 8". You're just wasting money, unless it's engineered and holding up a whole bunch of stuff above it. Got an 8" waterstop already set in my concrete bottom hog nosed to my rebar. No way this basement will ever leak.
