lol...now you know how to live!

 

EXACTLY!!! This past spring we rode out east, and 2 of the riders are "ride as fast as you can and never stop" riders and it sucks! Let's hurry up a get there, and then wait...... We are on vacation!!! Stop and relax and enjoy the scenery and the local "clubs", that's the joy of riding. If I wanna get from point A to B as quick as possible, I'll take the truck.

Seriously, one day we had 150 to miles to ride, that's it.... And he wanted to leave the hotel at 8:00AM. Why? And then we stopped for lunch, and he had a hissy fit!!! He wanted to get the next hotel at 1:00. We can't even check in until after 3:00 - what's the hurry????

 

SouthWood, I'm with you. Enjoy the ride, enjoy the scenery and relax. Had a friend just like you describe....1,000 miles an hour or it ain't ridin'. Haven't ridden with him in years and sad part is he's a great guy. Get tired of making excuses when he wants to go riding.

 

You gotta stop and smell the roses ... at that pace you can't even tell if they ARE roses

Yep! I really like this guy, good people. Funny thing, he's a firefighter and he's all about safety. But he'll ride 85+ in heavy traffic and think nothing of it.

On the way from out east, 3 of us decided to hang bike and ride our own pace. After 850 miles, they got home 90 minutes before us. Because they ride to hard and so fast, they are exhausted at every stop and then sit there for 45 minutes trying to recover. And at our pace, we enjoyed the ride, at least as much as you can riding 850 miles in 1 day.


No kidding!

 

Surely with just 8 posts to go the next milestone we can whip the crap out everybody who doesn't enjoy riding exactly like we do!...uh, what I mean is, uh....dress like we do, dammit, I meant....uh, use the same oil....oh crap....could have made it on my own if I had just postabated. Wait, some thing postabating is a poser thing....
