Very important not to over digit the bait, the rest of the snappers start to expect it and it ruins the entire colony. It creates something of a "bubble bait" economy. This can also happen when you have an extremely desirable specimen that spikes the bait digits temporarily.

 

And that affects your life how?

 

It's not how big your bait is.
It's how you wiggle your worm.

 

That may be what your SO told you to make you feel better about yourself but you can't single digit the bait when double or triple digits are required. You won't even get a nibble
