Evening Woods, hope all is well with you.
Went to visit my Mom this evening. I told her I loved her, and she didn't respond, just looked at me. The light was off, so to speak. Her hair was a mess, and I tried to comb it and it scared her so I couldn't do it. After a few minutes I tried again. Put my arm around her and told her I loved her.
I could tell instantly by the look in her eyes she was back, even if ever so briefly. She said I love you too son. That word "son" I needed to hear. She let me primp and comb her hair, then after a while she was gone again.
My Mom would be mortified if she knew how frumpled she looks now. She always cared about her looks, and took care of herself.
This is my Mom and Dad, a year after I was born.....

Ah Lonebone I feel for you !! Your parents were a beautiful young couple ready to tackle the world and make this country a better place to live and give there kids opportunities they didn't have ! I lost my mom when I was 21 my dad when I was 28. My Grandmother suffered from dementia and Alzheimer's it was sad how her mind was gone to another era or period of time in her life and there was this 1000 yard stare in its place ! God bless your Mom and stay strong lonewood !
