Yup. Im no hard core kinda guy but seemed to be more fun threads when I found this place. Also enjoyed helping people out figure out mechanical issues or pass on some knowledge. Not much of that around any more.

Oldwood, glad you are doing better. But mail at a bar? I guess you have 2 mailmen to tip at Christmas.

Speaking of regulars at a bar, I need to find a regular bar. We have several around, but I get bored with them.

Any of them wanna a job send them this way, my dept. has been trying to to hire 2 more since I came in and no joy, we are desperately in need of an old time wheel turner machinist and another fabricator/mechanic. Just can't find any worthwhile candidates everybody is either a CNC button pusher or can't stick gum to a wall much less steel together.

Find that hard to fathom. Being a firefighter used to be considered a "Prestige" occupation. Eventually you start making some pretty good money. But all the skilled trades are suffering from lack of interest in young people.

I hear what you're saying; six years on an bus as an EMT in the boonies where "hillbilly Heroin" is king and tweakers are a norm was enough for me...
