If I remember correctly, back around the turn of the century, maybe a bit before, rumor was that Canada, minus Quebec, were to become part of the U.S. Wouldn't hurt my feelings.

I grew up in Detroit and going to Canada was just a normal thing ... Now with all the B.S. involving security it's just a pain in the a$$ anymore. Had a lot of good times in Canada and it was always a "short cut" for me to take when headed to the east coast.
