Bonewood luv the new signature. I about passed my pants laughing when I read orphans post last night!
Did someone say goat ****?
I haven't been around much lately. Had a very nice Veterans Day. Met a bunch of former co-workers for breakfast at Perkins. They offered a free meal for vets. Afterwards my oil light came on in my Jeep so knowing I had not changed it in a while I took it to my favorite service station. They gave me a $10 discount on an oil change for Vet's Day.
Then I headed to the County Court House where I led the flag escort to the Vet's Day service by carrying the US flag. It was cold and the ceremony lasted about 45 mins. but there were a couple hundred people there and it was nicely done.
My usual routine on Tuesdays is to meet 2 or 3 fellow vets at the local billiard parlor and shoot 8 ball from 11 to 4. The proprietor told us that he was not charging us for table rental today and gave us one drink on the house. First shot of Yukon.
Usually we drink soda until around 2 and then have a couple beers in the last couple hours of play. Today at 2:30 we decided to celebrate a little and whoever lost a game had to buy a shot for the winner. Luckily we're pretty even in skill so no one got too tanked. Round two plus of Yukon. Then around 4 some bar patron comes over and says he wants to buy all of us a drink for Vet's Day. Of course that meant some more Yukon.
Finally went home and got the wife for dinner. I was feeling no pain by then and so she drove us to Olive Garden for another free meal. Had a nice glass of red wine with it.
All in all, one of the best Veteran's Days I've ever had.
My regards to my fellow Vets and to those still serving. God Bless you all.
