As for difference to me it is the Road King is on a touring frame vs the softail frame. Suspension is different, more easily adjustable shocks, cruise, etc. in addition to better stock seating.

Good morning woods !! Some of you woods were up pretty early this AM ! Wonder how southwood is doing today !! Golf ! Haven't played in 4 years ! Bully Pulpit course in Medora, ND. With the short summers up here its hard to ride an play golf so I ride !
2-up riding, the King all the way as the suspension is better and there is more room between rider and passenger.

Go get em Tiger. At least we know one Woodsmen is going to get lucky tonite.
Good points. I will mention that to him. We are relatively in a remote area, so putting on 200km to go anywhere is a short ride.
Part of the Road King desire is for storage on longer trips. My wife goes with me on lots of occasions my swing arm bag and handlebar bag don't leave lots of room for 'shopping' if you get my drift.

Depends on your riding style. Solo, a Softail is a great bike and very comfortable. Many complain about the B-motor causing buzzing in the handlebars and hands at cruising speeds, but I never noticed that on my Fat Boy.
