MarkWood-
Starting to think about stuff I am going to do to my bike during the winter our winter layup, all two weeks of it, and am considering removing the ratcheting primary chain adjuster and installing one of the Baker units. I read the instructions for them and noticed that the maintenance schedule is to check them every 5000 miles. Is this really realistic? If you set to the upper tolerance, how quickly does the shoe wear?

I think thats a CYA thing. I imagine once you have a few thousand miles on your chain she dont stretch much and usualy there is very little shoe break in on the Baker unit.

Yeah I'm going to get a TW 222 cam since it has the power right where I want it to be to haul my fat *** up and down the highway.

What is the difference between the regular S&S and "Premium" S&S lifters? You pay nearly twice as much for something that should have been done in the first place?

Sounds good. If that dont haul your fat *** around I can think of a displacement that will....

I can find out but most builders use the regulars with no issue.
