I thought the whole idea of texting was that you could respond at a convenient time. Texting while driving is illegal in MA and they are ticketing people for it. I think it$ 100 first offence and graduates $100 every time after capped at $300 and there a insurance surcharge. A lot of the Northeast states are banning handheld devises and I believe MA will soon be included. It's madness out there.
You thought wrong. The idea behind texting is having your phone stuck to your face/hands 24 hours a day. It's illegal here also, but it's a secondary offense, and rarely cited. I'm sure there is stats somewhere but I don't care to look them up. It should be an offense they can pull you over for, in fact I'd be happy if they banned hand held devices while driving, or walking for that matter...
