Deer tales- one of my closest near misses when I was riding road bikes was on a backcountry road, steep downhill, going about 40. Damn deer in the ditch started running in the ditch beside me. Then I guess she figured she had me and made the cut directly in front of me. I locked up the brakes, which were not that great at that speed, and missed her by inches. Idiot deer.
Rode that road daily for about 7 years and never did go fast down that hill again. Nor on my Harleys. Spooked me good.

There oughta be a law! We need a police presence out on the roads to ticket tose jaywalking deer. Heavy, heavy fines will stop it.
