Laid the first two feet of stones for the mailbox column. Now I hope it stays dry long enough for the mortar to set. Chance of t-storms every day for the foreseeable future and I am tired of waiting. The way I feel right now, from all that bending over, etc., has me wishing maybe I did wait a bit longer.

Yep, that's why I went ahead and sucked it up today. I'll finish it in the morning, I hope! If this first batch is dry. The mailbox is set on a 3" steel post, so the rock does not have to structurally strong, but I don't want it falling apart in a year or twenty either.
