Number six, third or fourth since I've been haunting the Coffee House.

Mom was going downhill this winter, got the call today, passed away mid afternoon. Expected it, she wasn't enjoying life much anymore, and at least it wasn't one of those painful drawn out affairs. Got the ball rolling with the funeral home, having her shipped from Atlanta to Missouri, be buried next to Dad a little south of St. Joseph. Gonna drive down there, daughter wants to go with me, gf, and tentatively pick up my brother and new gf in Kansas City, whenever we get a date. Maybe next weekend. Another door closes. I feel kind of guilty, part of me is relieved the stress is over; she's needed a lot of care and many paperwork nightmares for several years, and my brother took care of most of it since he lived in Atlanta. Sometimes it got rough for him, especially after his wife died, and I did several trips there. Probably won't go there again; my brother just recently moved to Texas. I was going to try and get her up here if her health would allow, but it never worked out.

Wow, Sorry to hear that Wally. My condolences to you and your family. Never easy to lose a loved one, even if it is expected.
May she rest in peace.
