When desert storm rolled around my step dad strongly urged me not to sign up. Said it wasnt the same anymore. Glad I listened. He had 28 years in and had a heart atack the night before he was to deploy.

Nope. Died in bed and mom was on the couch to let him have a good nights sleep and I was at a friends house for the same reason. Had his duffel packed by the door. Was on good friday 93. 3/160th Mechanized infantry. Tank mechanic on the M1A1 and M113A2.

 

Shame..How old was he?.....

That's really young. He never really got to enjoy himself .

 

Well, got the old axle out and new one in. Had to use the Kubota to pull the old one out.... pan hard bar wouldn't budge. Is that redneck enough? Apparently they changed axle design from 69 to 70... have to hit up the auto store tomorrow for different u-joint clamps. Oh, and dropped the axle on my left hand.... can barely use it.
