That's how it started here yesterday. Cleared off and wuz a beautiful day.

 

Rained pretty much all day..cleared up in the evening. Gotta get some ridin' in today..hope I remember how!! Gonna head up into NY state try to get away from people.

 

Lucky you. I gotta drive up past State College somewhere out inna middle of nowhere an back!!!

Noise started tapering off around 11:30, mostly done by midnite. Probably get more of the same tonight. I think someone popped off 3 rounds from a rifle last night, each one made a double crack, almost overlapping, never heard that from fireworks, have from rifles. I've heard that's from the round breaking the sound barrier, might just be an old soldier's tale. Or just an echo...

Slept ok last night; night before was a percocet night with the shoulder. I use that stuf real sparingly, but it werks real good when I do. Had most of a bottle left over a few years ago, so it's legal.

 

Yep, that's retirement. Folks think we're so lucky to be able to drive em anywhere anytime.

 

I'm up. I sure hope we get more rain today!

Well crap. Someone has to get out there and cut the grass. Al? You got that for me?

 

Fireworks are illegal here. $750 fine for possession. We have always shot some anyway as do a lot of folks. This year tho, we decided not to shoot any. However...my oldest g-son had some friends over & they had some good ones. Daughter didn't want to let them shoot them so I volunteered to take the rap if the kids would pay the fine & she was good with that. Soo...we drank beer & shot fireworks till around 11. No cops showed up & it turned out to be a most excellent evening.

ps. The cannon worked as anticipated. Hadn't shot one of those since I was like..10? The kids thought it was pretty cool.
