Harley XA, requested by the Army in WWII, they wanted a driveshaft bike like the Beemer. Decided on the Jeep instead before Harley went into production.
Original German that started it all.

Sure looks neat. Reminds me, wanna replace all the scarred up plain flat interior doors in the house with ones like in your pics, and the oak floor on the main level - was cheap oak, all different grains and shades, getting wide voids between some boards and even some cracks. Would like to pull it up and put down the prefinished stuff like in your pics. Gotta finish some of the other stuff first. Next decade...
