The Russian contraption is back in werking order, found a tiny screw missing from the micro switch for the front brake, let the switch move just enough it dint werk. Easy fix. Feel stoopid it took so long to find it. I'll blame the old eyes, dint see it till I put a bright light on it and my thickest reading glasses. Gotta remember to do that first next time.
Thanks, but that's the rear brake switch. Good site, I've already saved some of his pages in pdf for reference. Buncha Ural sites and youtubes, really helps take the mystery out of it. My '98 has the best bike manual I've ever seen, full of illustrations and photos, but the newer 750's have very little detail, skip way too much to be real useful. Good thing it's simple enuf I can see how most of it goes together. A few things are a complete mystery just looking at them, though.
The kid'll still have to wait to use his new helmet, supposed to rain tomorrow. I took the windshield off too soon...
