Moldy, too early for planting. The rule up here is never before Memorial Day. Wonder if that means the last Monday of May or the real Memorial Day?

Looks like I'm 250-300 miles south of Thunder Bay - that's in Canada, don't find one in MN. Be a nice ride up there when it's warm. That probably doesn't happen often...

Don't know which day, but folks around here figure end of May to start gardens. That's why I start em in the house, if you plant seed end of May, might come up mid to late June if yer lucky, then might only be about 3 months left 'fore the cold gets em. I had almost the whole back yard covered in plastic one year, had the biggest tomato crop I've ever had, and most of the other stuff was doing exceptional, too. Had barely started picking when frost hit. Was out crawling under plastic with snow on it before it all got ripe, but I got most everything. This can be a crappy place for gardening.

Started way more plants than I need this year, so if I do lose the first batch, got more to stick in the ground. Lotta werk, though, would hate to have to do it all over again. My back will only let me stick veggies in holes in the ground for mebbe half an hour at most, do that two or three times a day till it's done.

That's nice lookin pavement, must be in Canada, don't see much like that in Minnysota. Went to S. Dakota a couple years ago, wandered through a buncha MN two lanes, wondered the whole time if it was gonna be slamming over frost heaves and potholes the whole way - it was.
