You can buy a half way desent one for around 500. I'm good with that. Folks say to buy a cheap one till you learn to fly well. Sounds like a good idea to me. I don't wanna lose a $500 drone and a $400 camera all in one shot.
The baker's bought this one for like $1200 camera included.
Life still exists on the west banks of the Mississippi, if anyone really gives a rat's ***. Only worthwhile news I have is that I sent my retirement papers in yesterday and will start drawing my pension in April. Other than that, I got nothing but cold and snow.
Still waitin' for my first check...The rest of these guyz in here better get their butts in gear...more mouths to feed!
Drones.....privately owned should be outlawed!!!!!!
Way too many ******** out there who don't have a clue about airspace and who occupies it and when.
Only a matter of time until a serious accident is caused by some idiot flying one into the path of a commercial aircraft. ....It's gonna happen. Mark my words.
And the 500 ft restriction that the FAA is planning will do nothing to prevent stupid people from doing stupid things.
This should be evident by what has happened with the cell phone.
I worry about my son, and lots of other folks I know personally who are flying Medical Helicopters and other commercial helicopters.
They are out there everyday flying, and now must also be on the lookout for these things, as well as all of the other things that pilots have to be concerned with.
In a helicopter, there are plenty enough things out there that can kill you in the blink of an eye.....without having to worry about some freakin clown and his "Go-Pro" drone taking selfies of the neighbors dog from 500+ feet!!!!!!!
And.......There's my rant for the day....and I might add....I really don't give a FFRA if you like it or not!!!
Much as I like our little copter, have to agree with you doc. For every person that uses one in a reasonable, safe manner there will and a-hole that will do something stupid and screw it up for everyone.
Agree with you, Doc. Soon as these things went commercial, I figured they would be a nuisance at best, and likely hurt somebody eventually. FAA is looking at em, but said it will take years (bring down an airliner, and I bet it'll be a day or two). A shame, really, folks are getting some great pics with these things. Amazon and some businesses say they wanna deliver to your door with these; wonder how many folks would start pitching rocks at these things buzzing over your house all day...
Probably a good thing we don't live a couple hunnert years, don't know if I could stand this world in just anudder 50.
