Posers' Coffee House, All Bullshit Accepted, Part VI
when this cold snap first hit my furnace was turning the burners every 5 minutes it seemed, after the insulation was added.........it goes on evry hour or so....much better.
I had a lot of stuff to do with this house , and the temps weren't an issue in past years....'cept for this god forsaken season...........Stuff makes me think I was a serial killer in another life, I must a been a good one, cuz I'm paying for it now, lol.

I moved here in '13 from the Chicago suburbs. Y'all know what kind of winter they're having.
Glad I'm here! Mid-50's all week!

Hey, doc, things are great! Other than a battery crapped out in my new golf cart. Melted a post clean off, into a puddle of molten lead. Luckily, the guy down at the local repair shop said that was simply due to a loose connection arcing and generating heat, and they can put on a new post for $25. I'm dubious, but I'll give it a shot. Cheaper than a new battery!
It's been so unusually warm here that I'm into yard work. Got a non-working gas leaf blower from my father in law, and I'm gonna see if I can get it started.

Ya gotta keep those connections clean and tight though....ya got a lot more there than a 12Volt car battery!!!
Oh yeah....Real close friend of mine was the Fire Chief in Arlington Heights till he retired a couple years ago.
No sweat on the battery post Clay. We used to rebuild them all the time on heavy equipment. Clean it up good, run a screw into the stump, form a mold around it and pour it full of molten lead.....Be just as good as new.

You know, you might get lucky here...there should be a p-trap under the floor drain. If you just cut out a square around the drain and dig it up, you might find a rusted through p-trap since that's where the water sits. Going to pvc for a new p-trap is a hell of a lot cheaper than digging up 20-odd feet of floor, or however far it is to the foundation wall.

Site keeps hanging up trying to get the next page - turned off Zone Alarm firewall and it's almost instant refresh. Turned the firewall back on and it's working ok again. Done it before, but only on this website. Wonder why ZA chokes on it sometimes?

Depending where he's coming from in Florida, KR's got over 800 miles minimum, possible 1000+ if down in the southern part. Be a long day's drive, wondering if he's gonna get back tonite. Wait and see, I guess. Farthest I ever drove alone non-stop was 1100 miles, and I was a third the age then I am now. Never got over 110 either... well, 'cept for some short bursts mebbe.
I Wouldn't look for KR before tomorrow. I would believe he will stop over for the night. Foolish if he doesn't.
Well...I'm done for the night. Kidz don't have skool tomorrow so....prawly sleep in till mebby 6 or so....never can sleep much beyond that, an most cases don't make it that long. Cold as it is, I don't care much about gettin outta that warm bed.
C-y'all tomorrow.
